Meet He’s a Dashin Firewater, affectionately known as “Buckarooni!” This gorgeous buckskin and white paint gelding is truly something special, and we couldn’t be more excited to offer him!

Buckarooni has had just TWO owners in his lifetime. His current owner is an eight-year-old little boy who learned to walk, trot, canter, and compete in playday events on him. Together, they’ve traveled throughout Central and East Texas and even made their way to the APHA World Show in Fort Worth, where his young rider competed in barrels and poles!

Now, his little cowboy has decided he’d like to trade four legs for four wheels and purchase an ATV, which means Buckarooni is looking for his next family to love. ❤️

Our own FOUR-YEAR-OLD little boy rides Buckarooni independently, and not just around the round pen! He’s ridden him through 2,000-acre pastures, around the roping pens to bring cattle up, and everywhere in between.

Buckarooni is incredibly forgiving, patient, and willing. He adjusts to the person in the saddle, making him a phenomenal confidence builder for beginners while still being experienced and versatile enough for the entire family to enjoy.

Buckarooni rides English, Western, and bareback! He has a nice walk, trot, and canter, knows his leads, and has a soft backup. He runs barrels and poles at a comfortable, kid-friendly speed and has been hauled to open arenas, playdays, and major events.

Outside the arena, he’s just as dependable! You can gather cattle on him, swing a rope, track the dummy, or head out for a relaxing ride.

Buckarooni is a PHENOMENAL trail horse! He crosses water, steps over logs, navigates rough terrain, and confidently rides through thousands of acres of pasture. He crosses tarps, carries flags, rides around traffic, and takes new experiences in stride.

Whether you’re looking for a horse to take down the trail, use around the ranch, or haul to the next playday, Buckarooni has the experience to do it!

He’s easy to catch, picks up his feet, loads and hauls great, and has no major vices. No buck, no nonsense, and no need to ride him every single day to keep him gentle. Give him time off, saddle him back up, and you’ve got the same Buckarooni you left in the pasture.

He’s up-to-date on everything, and is an easy keeper! He currently wears front shoes due to our hard Texas ground but can go barefoot. He gets along wonderfully in any type of herd setting and is an all-around uncomplicated horse to have around.

But what makes Buckarooni so special isn’t just his résumé. It’s his HEART.

It’s watching a four-year-old ride him independently through a pasture. It’s seeing an eight-year-old learn to canter, then watching that same little cowboy take him all the way to the APHA World Show.
